Sleek-looking Italian passenger liner the MV Europa (1952), a luxurious modern vessel for its time, was a vital comfortable link for passenger travel to Africa before the dominance of air travel.
Sold shortly after in 1976 to Ahmed Mohamed Baaboud of Jeddah, it was renamed Blue Sea but sank from a fire at anchorage.
